Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
In large bowl, blend sugars, peanut butter, shortening, butter and eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and chill for 2 hours. Heat oven to 375ºF (190ºC). Shape dough into 1¼ inch balls. Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Using a fork dipped in sugar, flatten by making a crisscross pattern. Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
