Make homemade grain-free cinnamon sugar tortilla ice cream bowls using our Tortilla Bowl Maker! Using cassava tortillas, bake these churro spiced bowls and fill with ice cream, chocolate sauce, dulce de leche sauce, whipped cream and toasted coconut flakes. The options are endless for this gluten-free ice cream bowl for a fun summer treat. Kid-friendly and great idea for summer BBQ’s and birthday parties.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 Grain-Free tortillas or tortillas of choice (we used Cassava tortillas)
- 1-2 tablespoons butter, softened
- Ice cream
- Chocolate sauce
- Dulce de Leche sauce
- Whipped cream
- Toasted coconut flakes
Directions
Preheat oven to 375° F. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Place 2 Cassava tortillas on a plate with a damp paper towel wrapped around them. Microwave for 10-15 seconds to warm up (or follow package instructions).
Spread a thin layer of softened butter to each side of tortilla. Sprinkle with desired amount of cinnamon sugar to each side. Place tortilla inside of Tortilla Bowl Maker and press to mold into shape. If you have two Tortilla Bowl Makers, bake two at a time. Or bake one at a time.
Bake for 13-15 minutes. Remove them immediately from pan and let them cool completely on a cooling rack. Clean Tortilla Bowl Maker(s) and repeat until all tortillas are done.
Once tortillas bowls have completely cooled, build ice cream bowls! Add scoops of ice cream, chocolate sauce, dulce de leche sauce, whipped cream and toasted coconut flakes on top. Enjoy immediately!
Store tortillas in an air tight container for up to 3 days if you want to save for later.
