- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp almond extract
- Optional: food coloring, sprinkles, frosting
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Using s stand mixer, cream butter. Mix in sugar and egg until fully combined. Add remaining dry ingredients and mix well. ad food coloring if desired. Roll dough into a log and chill for 30 minutes ( if dough is too soft to handle, make sure to chill dough longer). Also, chill cookie sheet in the refrigerator before using. Make sure to use bare metal cookie/baking sheets (do not use non-stick pans, silipat mats, or grease).
when ready, place dough into Cookie Press and press cookies using desired shapes onto an ungreased and chilled cookie sheet. Sprinkle with decorations, if desired. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to a cooling rack and let cookies cool completely. Add frosting or other decorations if desired. Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies.
