Apple spice donut perfection! These baked grain-free spiced apple cider donuts are a must-try for an amazing fall breakfast or healthier fall treat. Naturally gluten-free and a sweet combination of your favorite fall flavors, dipped in apple cider with a cinnamon sugar coating- yum!
Ingredients
- 2 cups fine milled almond flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 Tbsp granulated white sugar
- 1 tsp apple spice or cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- Coating:
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (add more if desired)
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
Directions
*FOR PREPPING PAN, use butter, avocado oil spray, or coconut oil for a gluten free version. Otherwise, use baking spray containing flour.
Preheat the oven to 300° F (150° C). Prepare Classic Donut Pan with one of the methods described above. In a food processor, add the almond flour, eggs, baking powder, 2 tablespoons sugar, vanilla extract, apple spice/cinnamon and salt. Mix until it turns into a paste.
Transfer the mixture into a piping bag and evenly pipe the batter into prepared donut pan.
Bake for 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let donuts cool in pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a cooling rack. Mix the cinnamon and remaining sugar in a bowl and set it aside while donuts cool completely.
Once donuts are ready, dip in the apple cider and generously coat with cinnamon sugar mixture to your liking.

These were quite good! Recipe makes 12 medium-sized donuts. I made as directed but added 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg. Recommend dipping donuts in cider as directed but then sprinkling with cinnamon sugar, rather than dipping to eliminate clumps of sugar on surface of donuts.
