Directions:
Rice
1. Pour 1 cup rice, 1 1/2 cups water and 1 tsp salt into rice cooker. Fasten lid and open vent.
2. Cook in microwave at 50% power (10-12 minutes for white rice or 18-20 minutes for brown rice).
3. Remove from microwave with hot pads. Close vent and let stand for 4-5 minutes. Fluff rice with fork.
Pasta
1. Pour two cups uncooked pasta, 2 1/2 cups water and 1 tsp salt into Rice Cooker
2. Cook in microwave (without basket or lid) for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through.
3. Remove from microwave with hot pads and stir pasta. Fasten lid onto Rice Cooker and let stand 3-4 minutes.
Vegetables
1. Pour 1 cup water and 1/4 tsp salt into Rice Cooker. Place Basket Insert into Rice Cooker and fill with 2 cups desired vegetables (cut into bite sized pieces). Fasten lid and close vents.
2. Cook in microwave 3-4 minutes.
3. Remove from microwave and lets stand 3-4 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
Care:
1. Before first use and after subsequent uses,
wash in warm, soapy water.
2. This cookware is designed for microwave use only.
3. Expect microwaving times to vary slightly on different microwaves.
4. Beware of hot steam when removing covers from food cooked in
the microwave.
5. Dishwasher use is not recommended, as it may discolor or warp the product.
6. Use of metal utensils may scratch the surface of this product and therefore is not recommended.

Makes rice quickly and easily! The rice is soft, with individual grains. (Not clumped together.). Cheaper than an electric rice cooker. Will make pasta next

I don’t know if it was a manufacturing defect, but it never worked right from the beginning, and after a while there was a visible crack. Perhaps that was why. I don’t know. But it was very disappointing and too late to bring the product back. I couldn’t find the receipt.

Just got this rice maker to replace the previous one by Nordic Ware that used a gasket and used it for many years. This new one is far better and simpler to use and gives you up to 8 cups of perfect rice as good as those pricey, faddish units sold online!

Cooking for one is usually very wasteful and time consuming. I was so frustrated with the cost/quality of frozen Power Bowls and just happened to see your little rice cooker at the store and thought why can’t I just cook my own in that. I have to tell you its’ beyond expectations. My favorite is first cooking quinoa and storing it. Then daily start with kale, then frozen squash and soy beans, etc. Then top with the already cooked quinoa 4 minutes plus 4 to steam I have a wonderful vegetarian power bowl without all the additives and the high cost. Big Plus – simple and quick clean-up!

I have used the product to cook rice and pasta in the microwave and it comes out perfect. I have also used it for browning hamburger and making oatmeal. The cooker cleans up beautifully and no residual smells leech into the plastic. I am very pleased and would purchase again.

This is my second Nordic Ware rice cooker. I, unfortunately, broke the lid on my first one, and soon discovered how much I had come to depend on it. I never cook rice on the stovetop anymore. With this cooker, microwave rice is perfect every time. I love it.

I bought a second one when I lost the original in a move. I haven’t found anything else that cooks white rice as perfectly as this microwave cooker. I also use it frequently to steam fresh vegetables. I have a pressure cooker that can make rice, but I still prefer this.

I LOVE this product. It was a gift. It has produced perfectly cooked rice and pasta every time. We often use it for one or two people. It’s ideal for that. If they follow the instructions it should be foolproof for the novice.

I really love this rice cooker. My mother gave this to me years ago to help me out when I lived in apartments without good kitchen units. I’ve been using it forever, it’s great for rice, vegetables, beans, and all the other staples. It’s super easy to clean and works perfectly every time. This rice cooker will be with me forever.

The rice cooked very well BUT after using the cooker- per instructions – the FIRST time the black ventcovercame ‘loose and will no longer stay connected to the cover as it was when I received it. I purchase this and several ‘other Nordic Ware products with my new microwave from Amazon. I hope that the rest of the cookwares that I purchased ‘have a better quality to them. I hope that Nordic Ware will be able to do something about my problem as the cooked ‘food was very good. It would have been a 5 rating but for this problem.

Very good and nicely priced microwaveable rice (+ pasta, soups, vegetable, hot cereal, leftovers, etc.) cooker. Fast and simple to use. Proven to be very durable after multiple high heat cycles. Easy to clean and store. Uncomplicated cooking tool for busy people. You may need to scale suggested cooking times to the power rating of your microwave. In this case, a small 800W / 0.7 cu. ft. oven generally takes 1/3 more time for cooking than product manual shows.. .For extended simmering or boiling, place natural paper towel sheet underneath while cooking and use oven mitts. Also take care when using the rotating steam vent after cooking. Recommended product.
