The ultimate Veggie Supreme Pizza with homemade pizza sauce! Add this classic pizza recipe to your Friday night pizza plans and share with family and friends. (vegetarian)
Ingredients
- Homemade Pizza Sauce:
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 15-oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves
- 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh Italian parsley or 2 tsp dried parsley flakes
- Veggie Supreme Pizza:
- 1 unbaked refrigerated pizza crust to fit 14” pan (crust made from scratch can be used!)
- Cornmeal (for pan)
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup thin sliced green bell pepper strips
- 1/2 cup thin sliced red onion
- 4-5 grape tomatoes, sliced lengthwise into thirds
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
Directions
Homemade Pizza Sauce:
Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until lightly golden. Add crushed tomatoes and all seasonings. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. (Sauce recipe yield is 1 1/2 cups, enough for one 14-16” pizza)
Veggie Supreme Pizza:
Preheat oven to 450°F. Dust 14” pizza pan lightly with cornmeal. Roll out pizza dough and place on pan. Bake crust for 5 minutes. Remove crust from oven and spread pizza sauce evenly over curst. Arrange toppings, ending with cheese.
Bake 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and edges of pizza crust are lightly browned.
