Simple vanilla donuts made in under 2 minutes in your microwave! A sweet mini treat that is easy and quick to make. Choose your topping of choice of cinnamon sugar or traditional glazed donuts with fun sprinkles.
Ingredients
- Donut Batter:
- 2 Tbsp butter
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp milk
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- Cinnamon Sugar:
- 1 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1-2 tsp cinnamon sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Chocolate Glaze:
- 1/3 cup + 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Optional: sprinkles
Directions
In a medium microwave- safe bowl, heat butter until just melted. Do not overheat. Add remaining donut batter ingredients and stir until smooth. Prepare Donut Bites Pan with baking spray containing flour. Fill each well with donut batter. For ease, transfer batter into a piping bag and evenly pipe the batter into prepared donut pan. Microwave 60-90 seconds or until donuts start to pull away from sides. Do not overcook. Let donuts cool in pan for one minute. Transfer to a cooling rack over a baking sheet and add desired toppings. Serve immediately. Makes 6 donuts.
Your Choice of Topping:
Cinnamon Sugar: Mix cinnamon sugar with salt. When donuts are ready, dip in melted butter or lightly coat with a brush and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar topping.
Glaze: Mix all glaze ingredients in a small bowl until desired consistency is reached. Add more milk if necessary. Pour over the top of donuts and let glaze set. If adding additional sprinkles, top glazed donuts with sprinkles right away when glaze is still fresh.

Very pleased with this product in using a boxed muffin mix in our rv camper. Our donuts resemble mini bundt cakes; so cute!

this recipe is easy and delish. satisfied my quick craving for warm donuts with ingredients i already had at home. the nutmeg makes them taste like bakery or fair donuts and the butter gives them a fried taste but without having to heat up oil. yum!
