Product Reviews

My new Nordic Ware egg poacher has changed my breakfast for the better. I love poached eggs, but when making them on the stove I either lost too much of the white, or they smelled like vinegar. This little microwave poacher is perfectly designed. I followed the instructions. Today I tried 45 seconds for two eggs– they were very soft and delicious. Tomorrow I’ll try 55 seconds to see if I can perfect the whites’ firmness. Well worth the drawer space in my small kitchen.

Sweet little poacher. I think it doesn’t close all the way to prevent the eggs from exploding. I make sure to prick the eggs, add 1/2 tsp water and microwave on high (I like mine 50 seconds) then rest in microwave for 30 seconds. I’ve never had a mess in my microwave afterwards and the eggs are perfect on an English muffin with some seasoning. Because it is small it fits in a drawer so it’s a space saver. I’m really glad I bought it. I think it’ll last a long time. Easy breezy.

This is a great gadget to prepare a nutritious breakfast in a hurry….faster than the toaster makes my toast!

This egg poacher consistently produced an egg with a solid yolk. Varying egg size, cooking time and wait time made no difference. If the white was not runny, neither was the yolk.
This egg poacher did not work for us.

This item is AWESOME and works very well if you pay attention. I’ve seen a few reviews saying this is cheaply made…. It’s just not the case! Some reviewers have complained about the hinges. If handled properly they work just fine. The design is actually quite clever. You need to lift the top lid ….then slowly rotate the lid back to open the device. If you just pull the lid back without the short lift, it will surely break. This design is vital for a tight seal so the eggs will properly poach. Not that hard, people!!

These egg poachers are the neatest kitchen gadget! Easy and quickly cooks your eggs with simple cleanup afterwards. I put a tiny bit of shredded cheese, bits of ham, and an egg into each cup. Microwave for a little over a minute, and instant breakfast.

I have used my egg poacher for 8 yrs and love the convenience. I purchased one for everyone in my family and they are loving them also.

This poacher is great! I eat eggs every day and always looking for new ways to cook! I love the consistency of the eggs, and the whites are not runny, but firm. I found this in my kitchen tool drawer and forgot about it for a year or so. Now, I will use it all the time! I recommend!

Nice product. Good quality. LOVE that it’s made in America! I’ve been handwashing piece, which I think Nordic Ware recommends, although I have other of their microwave plastic pieces that stand up in the DW very well. Still experimenting with amount of time in microwave, but I’ve poached more eggs in the past month since I received this piece than I have in many years. Using it is so easy (be sure to follow the simple but important instructions) and definitely take sthe guesswork (and mess) out of traditional poaching. LOVE IT!

Love this…. Easy clean up, quick and easy poached eggs. Just follow directions, and adjust for your microwave and voila easy peasy.

Great product but as I use it for making sandwiches you should consider providing a sqare version

I really love this, so easy and quick, takes away the guessing

Works great – as long as you follow instructions! Will explode if you are dumb enough to not pierce the yolk… 🙄

Nordic ware has excellent products. High quality and convenient to use. I have the omelet maker and egg poachers. Saves so much time and eggs are so tasty. I love that they are made in the USA. Very good quality and affordable! I am going to purchase the popcorn popper soon. Thank you!

We have used these egg cookers for 10 years. You can add a few bacon bits, cheese, or cooked onion to the bottom of the cups. Our grandchildren love to make their own eggs in the microwave. Great to have three egg cookers at the cabin where we can fix breakfast quickly and head to the slopes. Highly recommended. No pan to clean. I recommend having at least two cookers. Jo

Handy..fast…but im still trying to dial it in….recently blew up the eggs just as I opened the micro…i still love it when it works…im going to lower the power setting on my micro….happily using it until a better one comes along…..attention Nordic Ware: …make a better one before someone else does. V.

It works great, I don’t use water only butter with no problems. Easy to clean and very fast cook time.

This thing finishes the eggs before the toast is even done. Poached eggs are good, not great just good. I will mess with the time a little bit, to try and improve.

I had this for years and never used it. I tried it today finally and even though my microwave timer (analog style) is busted on the low end, I used the 1/2 tsp of water in each section, poached two eggs and they are fantastic !!! You’d have to be quite the elitist not to enjoy these fantastic poached eggs !!! I think most of that pickiness elites use is just imaginary anyway.

Useless, messy product. It popped open during cooking from the pressure of the steam and got egg all over my microwave. Don’t bother with this.

I like using this, but mine has one flaw: the hinges are constantly sticking, and I’m afraid they will soon break.

Excellent customer service! Extremely satisfied with my purchase and quantity of product!

Love this product. Perfect eggs every time!

Love my Nordicware Egg poacher! fast eggs, perfect for an english muffin. I’ve had one for many years. Recently one I had broke fairly early on after purchase, but support replaced it quickly. ( the hinges seem to be the thing that goes after a time, but this was unusual)
    Thank you Nordicware!

I have had this for many years. I noticed the design has changed, maybe that’s the issue with mine? The eggs never cook evenly. I want poached eggs with runny yolks. At 55 seconds one egg will be cooked perfectly, the other will be overdone, any less time and I have an undercooked egg. My microwave does have rotating feature, so that’s not the problem. It’s always the egg on the right that’s overcooked, that’s why I think there may be a flaw in this design, or maybe a defect in this particular cooker? I bought this in my supermarket not directly from the company.

The egg poacher does a great job in making poached eggs. Cooking and cleaning the unit is simple. The only draw back are the hinges. I found you have to pull and lift the top to smoothly open the unit.

The egg cooker is a nice idea however right from the first day of ownership the cover did not fully latch. The slightest pop of the egg as it cooks causes the cover to spring open and egg splatters on the interior of the microwave. Also, the left side cup does not cook the egg at the same rate. This is probably due to steam / heat escaping since the cover does not fully latch.

WOW, super quick and super great tasting, this egg cooker is our go-to for breakfast. We have 5 of these handy egg cookers at home. They fit easily into the dishwasher. We give these as a gift to friends and family and have several at the cabin as well. Everyone loves them. My husband adds a bit of water and poaches his eggs. Highly Recommended.

I have been making dozens of eggs, each one coming out perfect!! I love this product, it make two great eggs in about a minute. My scrambled eggs days are over!!

I bought this for my son. He’s had one for years, and it got broken so I looked at the name on the back, and ordered it for him. He takes it ot work to use. Can still use the old one at home.

This nordic ware egg poacher turns out perfectly poached eggs every time! It is so easy to use and to clean. And very well made in the USA! The eggs take a minute or less to cook (depends on microwave power) and come out looking fluffy and amazing! If you like to eat or serve poached eggs’get this beautiful tool now.

I bought this for my Dad (he’s 91) to make life easier for him. He loves it! I use a dollup of butter instead of the water. Best poached eggs ever.

    Love it!

Love my micro egg poacher, easy clean up, great results!

    Eggs come out perfectly!!

Easy-to-clean, quick, and simple’perfectly cooked poached eggs. One of my all-time favorite kitchen tools.

I love this thing. It works really well. One of the hinges broke after about a year, but I glued the piece back on and it still works great! I recommend dropping the power level to prevent eggsplosion 🙂

I love this poacher, the eggs fit perfectly on the English muffins to make beautiful Eggs Benedict! I will get another one so I can feed the family more quickly on holidays.

Very simple to use. Have your nutritious breakfast in minutes.

If you follow the instructions, the eggs come out perfect. Don’t skip any of the steps, especially the part about the yolk, or the egg will explode.

Years ago I purchased my first egg poacher. I have eggs 4-5 times a week and found it so much easier to use than getting out a pan, waiting for it to heat up enough to make my eggs. After years of use, one of the hooks broke off when I was cleaning. I kept using it but it just wouldn’t seal during the cooking process. I finally looked at the name and went to the Internet. Happy was I that you were still in business and I purchased the new 2019 version. I can’t say enough about it. You can poach from soft to hard. Best part now is I also found a fantastic popcorn popper! Keep up the Great Work!!!!

We love having eggs Benedict for breakfast every so often on special occasions but it would always take forever to poach the eggs. Not anymore this microwaveable egg poacher works like a charm. Still working on cook times to get the eggs to the consistency I like but this is a great product. This is the perfect life hack for easy poached eggs. I do recommend using some non stick spray as the eggs do stick a little but overall it’s a great product. Money well spent for sure!

I have had mine for many many years and have always loved using it for my breakfast eggs. Thank you for a great product.

We’ve had our egg poacher forever it seems. So long, we don’t remember when we got it. It cooks quickly and efficiently. Once you know the cooking time for your microwave (50 sec for ours) it’s a snap for quick eggs on toast breakfast, or anytime.

How about ham, cheese and eggs in 75 seconds. We fold a very thin slice of ham into each egg space, cover it with some shredded cheese and top it with a large egg. Pop it into the microwave and then tip over and scoop out onto a piece of toast. Add pepper! Perfect breakfast and our Grandchildren love this meal.

Cook tasty eggs quickly. Easy clean up. I have been using these for years, but can’t find them in stores.

Eggs didn’t stick. Had to experiment with microwave time for the doneness I like.

I spray a quick shot of Pan into each cup, my wife likes to put bacon bit with salt & pepper and cook for 90 seconds for hard.

I have the original design and it works great. It’s the fastest way to make egg’s for my three kids when I’m in a hurry in the morning.

    .

Love the idea and design of the first one so much that I picked up another for making eggs Benny for myself & husband. Unfortunately the 2nd one had no snug closure and egg mess all over micro. Is there no way to tell which one we are buying? Disappointing, or is there another way to keep it shut. I have been micro cooking since the 1970s and thought finally a great poacher, the 1st one was the 2nd one is useless.

Love the idea behind this thing and the way it works with a lot less clean-up and excellent results. Went out and purchased another one for making our Sunday Brunch for 2. The 2nd poacher did not have any type of latch or ‘click’ to close on it and presumed it was broken between manufacturer and retailer, top is floppy to handle without the snap lid. Now, reading on here, I am not sure if this was ‘broken’ or just 2 types designed, confusing. Very easy to use, very quick, and great poached eggs without the mess in a pan of water. I use a rubber spatula to remove the eggs. Tks for the product.

As a man who hates to cook, I love the convenience of this egg poacher which I use at least once or twice a week. It’s so easy to use, I bought one for my 92-year-old mother who had no trouble using it. I would prefer, however, if they went back to the original design that had a little stand and latch built into the handle. That one closed much better than the current model. Perhaps they’ll go back to it.

Have used more than twenty years!

I love this gadget!!! Makes perfect poached/ over easy eggs. I buy it and give it as a gift to my friends. Nordicware makes exceptional products.

I decided to buy the Nordic Ware 2 cup egg poacher after reading other customer reviews. I couldn’t find it available anywhere in Australia so I bought it direct online from Nordic Ware USA and their sales and international shipping service were great. I had to do a bit of trial and error with the power settings on our microwave but now I’ve found that 1 minute at 40% power setting gives a beautifully softly poached egg.
I really have to complement Nordic Ware upon the elegant design of their little 2 cup poacher because it’s beautifully simple and works a treat. Being made of food safe plastic it obviously requires the user to have a little common sense and to avoid any rough handling of it when cleaning it. I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to getting many years of use from it and I will certainly be recommending it to all my friends.
    Regards, William.

Crack 1 egg into each cup of egg poacher base. Pierce each egg yolk with fork and add 1/2 tsp water to each cup (add water to empty cup if only cooking one egg). 2. For one egg, cook for 30-45 seconds.

I inherited this handy little egg poacher when my parents passed away. I didn’t know what to do with it and wasn’t even sure what it was because none of the instructions were with it, but I have held onto it for years because it belonged to my mum and dad. A friend of mine has free range chickens and gives me organic eggs so I did a little searching on the web recently and figured out how to use this! I can’t tell you how delicious my eggs tasted! I didn’t even follow the directions correctly the first time and they still came out wonderfully! I’m going to do much more experimentation. I also travel extensively and can see this being a useful tool as an inexpensive alternative to a pricey breakfast or lunch. The eggs don’t generate any extra calories either because you don’t have to use cooking spray or fat of any type. Super tasty and very easy!!

Quick and easy to use. For breakfast on toast or at lunch time for Eggs Benedict.

I am never sure which is the bottom and which is the top of this product. Although I like it, the first time out one of the hinges broke off and now there is a gap between the two parts and I cannot secure the one plastic tab that is left for fear of breaking it. I think there could be a better manufacture on these hinges and the top/bottom more clearly marked. Otherwise, it is a great product and I have purchased one for my son-in-law’s Christmas stocking.

As others have complained, the hinges are a concern and may prematurely break due to sloppiness of fit for assembly. To overcome this event, I heated the free end of the hinge making it pliable to wrap it around the hinge pin without fusing – voila! No more issue and I get smooth action. If only the supplier were to do the same all rating categories would be excellent.

Had first one for 10 yrs before it finally wore out. Have tried other brands, but either don’t work well or are harder to operate. Like so much that I bought 2 more – a backup for home (used by several people) and one for our camper

The 2 cavity egg poacher is a great product that I use 5 days a week at work and home. I use the product so much I bought 2 of them. Unfortunately the design of the product could use some improvement. The hinges break off very easily if you are not carful. Both my egg poachers have broken hinges. The product is still my go to for breakfast prep. I will purchasing 2 more new when they improve the design flaws. Thanks Norm Alaman

Instrux are easy, save the panel from the packaging. Treat gently, can not be made with metal, it IS for microwave use. Variation for mini frittata / omlette: beat eggs with spices and a drop of oil. Cook 30 seconds, wait 30, cook another 30.

I make mine with avocado on the side and this is a wonderful way for me to drop weight and eat more eggs! I am a little lazy so it works wonders for me and despite some of the reviews mine is old; it was my mother’s and still works like new. If you need instructions people just google! It’s not that hard.

Great when you don’t have time to boil eggs!

Great product! Finally lost a hinge after 7 years of service. On site to replace now. Microwaves vary as does time with one or two eggs. I place shredded cheese on top of the egg with no water for a perfect melted egg mcmuffin!

Excellent product! Cooking times need to be adjusted per microwave – will try shorter time than 60/50 seconds. Also egg size can change cooking times.

I bought mine in 2005, and have been using it for eleven years, without a hitch!

Excellent poacher, but microwave oven difficult to control, as eggs even when pierced tended to explode while cooking. Item is well made and works flawlessly.

Well Made, especially considering price. I put my uncooked eggs in to travel to work, then cook as recommended. Have given the to several co-workers to like it.

Poorly designed. the hinges broke off top half before i even used it.. The hinge loops fit the bottom half rods so tightly that it overstress the fragile top part of the hinge.

If I could give this zero stars I would. Apparently this stuff is cheaply made as this broke the first time I used it. The two pieces snapped apart. Very disappointed in the quality of this product!!!

Product in concept works great, but one of the hinge broke off the 3rd time I used it?

A hinge broke off before I got it separated from the cardboard. Needs much stronger hinges, maybe with a metal hinge pin.

It’s a great product someone who likes eggs but has issues using the stove top. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Extremely durable. Great for making breakfast.
